Definizione rapida

An individual retirement account funded with post-tax dollars; withdrawals in retirement are tax-free.

Spiegazione completa

A Roth IRA (Individual Retirement Account) is a US retirement account funded with AFTER-tax dollars. The key benefit: qualified withdrawals in retirement are 100% tax-free. Contributions can be withdrawn anytime tax- and penalty-free (contributions, not earnings). The 2026 contribution limit is $7,000 ($8,000 if 50+), with income phase-outs (e.g. $150k–$165k single, $236k–$246k married in 2026). Earnings grow tax-free forever. Ideal for: people who expect to be in a higher tax bracket in retirement, young workers with decades of growth ahead, or anyone who values tax flexibility. The opposite of a traditional (pre-tax) IRA or 401(k).
