What is Volume?
Schnelldefinition
The amount of 3D space inside a shape, measured in cubic units (m³, ft³) or in liters/gallons.
Vollständige Erklärung
Volume is the measure of 3D space. Common units: cubic meters (m³), cubic feet (ft³), liters (L), gallons (gal). Formulas: Rectangular prism V = length × width × height; Cylinder V = π × r² × h; Sphere V = 4/3 × π × r³; Cone V = ⅓ × π × r² × h. Conversions: 1 m³ = 1,000 L; 1 ft³ = 7.48 gallons; 1 gallon = 3.785 L. Volume is critical for concrete, soil, water tanks, swimming pools, fuel, and shipping. In cooking, volume measurements (cups, tablespoons) are approximations; weight is more accurate. Volume differs from capacity, which is what a container can hold (often slightly less than internal volume).

Area
The amount of 2D space inside a shape, measured in square units (m², ft², acres, hectares).
Perimeter
The total distance around the outside of a 2D shape. Measured in linear units (m, ft).
Circumference
The perimeter of a circle — the total distance around it. C = 2πr, or C = πd.
Slope
The steepness of a line, calculated as rise over run. Slope = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁).
Density
Mass per unit volume, typically in kg/m³ or g/cm³. Different materials have characteristic densities.
